Profile: As an appointed Chairman of the Professional Executive Committee (PEC) in 2007, Adam Greig has been steering the clinical qualities of Berkshire East Primary Care Trust. The role of the PEC is to provide clinical leadership to assist the PCT board in carrying out their responsibilities as guardians of public funds to maximize patient care. Located just 30 miles west of London, Adam has been a General Practitioner for 22 years. With a keen interest in the management of people with long term conditions, Adam recognizes the benefits that telehealth brings to both patients and health providers; maximizing patient independence, confidence and quality of life. Diseases that are managed well in primary care result in fewer admissions to hospital and thus reduced morbidity. During the 90s, Adam was and active fund holding General Practitioner developing services delivered in a community setting. Commissioning of health services and changing the way health care is delivered by improving care pathways will bring benefits to all. |
